Our Home

Here are some photos of our updates on the house.

We've sure had a lot of fun with this place.

The picture on the left is soon after we finished moving in fall of 2003.  The picture on the right is this fall 2004, after we finally finished painting the exterior.  It had been neglected for a long time, so it sure changed the way it looks, gave it a real face lift.  The neighbors were very happy we didn't choose passion pink or neon yellow.  There are still many things we want to do:  add house numbers, shutters, window boxes, more landscaping, and of course more flowers!  We won't even talk about what needs to be done with the backyard!

Love the nasty shag carpet and paneled walls :)
Bathroom gutted into adjacent closet. . .

The bathroom is gonna be twice as big now and have a shower!

The day we moved in, Eddy took a sledge hammer to the bathroom.  It was pretty gross in there, moldy shag carpet, a nasty rusty tub, moldy paneling, etc.  It gave me the heebeegeebees just to enter it.  Needless to say that was the beginning of a very long project and many scary showers in the cold, dark, spider-ridden basement.  Since the adjacent bedroom had two closets we were able to expand the tiny bathroom into one of the closets on the other side of the tub and make the bathroom twice as wide.  We are certainly glad we did it first or it would've never gotten done.  After it was finished, it was the only room we wanted to be in.  We could've had a picinic in there!

Eddy did such a good job on all the tiling in the shower and on the floor.

Lots more room now.

Much of the work we've done on the house has slowed down or ceased now that we have two little lives to raise and well it all seems trivial compared to the joy of being parents, so when we get any pictures where the house isn't destroyed with toys and primary-colored baby equipment, I'll add them to the site.  For now, just use your imagination (it probably looks better that way anyway:))
